About the LBAP

Teignbridge District Council has drafted a BAP for the district, this will be out to public consultation in September and October 2004. It is hoped that the Teignbridge BAP will be adopted early in 2005.

The draft contains a plan of actions for the Council to undertake to better protect and enhance biodiversity in the course of its everyday work. It also contains a 'Generic Middle List Action Plan' which seeks to reactively protect from harm the 140 species and 40 habitats on the district's Middle List - for instance seeking to resist development on Middle List habitats. There are also Action Plans for each of the eight Short List habitats and species.
