About the LBAP

In summer 1996 a steering group was set up by RSPB to guide the Greater Purbeck Biodiversity Project. This consisted of the RSPB, Purbeck Heritage Committee, English Nature, Dorset Wildlife Trust, Environment Agency, National Trust, Dorset County Council and Purbeck District Council. This steering group was established to encourage the development of a shared vision of biodiversity conservation in Purbeck. Alison Barnes was employed as a project officer to write an audit of the area and co-ordinate the production of action plans with individual experts and other organisations
